Just finished a charity event this past Saturday for the American Lung Association. It was the Austin Fight for Air Climb that featured over 500 vertical climbers going up the Frost Tower here in Austin. Preliminary results indicate that perhaps we raised over $150,000 for the ALA through this event.

It occurred to me that charity has a way of paying back and strengthening the community exponentially. Since I asked many of my friends to participate, they in turn will get my support when they need it for their charities. Already I have made small contributions to two local charities because my friends supported the American Lung Association and this particular event.

Everyone wins……the charity, our community and it makes me feel like I am making a difference.

I know that many times it seems like we are all getting “over-asked” on the charity front. However, participating and giving makes a difference and it does make a big ripple into the community!
