Thumbs Down on Linked-In Endorsements

Ok, I know I could be judged as negative (I am not) and ungrateful (I am not) but I truly don’t know why Linked-In has created the endorsement option for members.

Keep in mind this is coming from a person who is quite grateful for the many endorsements I have received.

Here is why I don’t believe that the endorsements option is viable:

1) I get endorsed by people who have not worked with me

2) I get endorsed for subject matter I have not even attempted

3) Linked-in already has an option to create brief recommendations. An endorsement is sort of like “recommendation-light” if you will. Do we need another level of recommendation?

Please weigh in on your thoughts about this. In this instance, I believe Linked-In is wrong on offering the option. It does not mean anything.
