As a small business owner, I am always looking for opportunities to learn from other successful enterprises.
I found myself in my Dentist office last week as a result of a sore tooth. My Dentist is Scott Branyon in South Austin. As I was waiting in the lobby, I began thinking about what a great business they run and things that I admire about them:
1) Everyone in the office from the receptionist to the dental assistants know me by name and make me feel like family. They remember the little things about my life and I appreciate that.
2) They can always schedule me in if I am having any problem with my teeth.
3) Dr. Branyon is a seasoned expert. Of course, after seeing him, my tooth ache gradually went away with the treatment he recommended.
4) They charge at a reasonable rate for the market place.
Seems kind of simple but they have the business fundamentals down pat: treat people like family, be ready to dive in when needed, be expert and charge a fair price for your services.
Thanks Dr. Branyon and staff! You confirmed my thinking about successful small businesses.
