Probably the one thing that I enjoy more than anything related to my search practice is business development and seeing clients or future clients face to face. It is that one time you can check the barometer on the market place and also catch up with clients on their personal and business lives.
I have a great BD road trip lined up during September. I will travel in the middle of the country and have BD meetings in the DFW area, Wichita and Lincoln & Omaha. Will visit both former clients and new clients to be.
I remember one of my early mentors telling me that you have to let your clients know you are always ready to jump in and help them and by seeing them face to face, this cements that feeling. He also told me that if clients feel your passion for your work and also are comfortable with you as a person, you have cracked the code for new business.
I still enjoy the business development process. In fact, I love it.
