I am constantly learning new things from my clients and candidates.

I found a recent great example how a candidate can show their confidence as a person and also display that they have done their research on the company they are interviewing with.

This candidate in particular read the internet site about the company and also examined some areas with clever commentary about their employees. One of the employees (VP of HR) has twins and the commentary said that she is the “size 0 mother of twins”.

My candidate walked in to meet the VP of HR for the interview and it came to her at the last second to do away with her “internal filter” and say “I wanted to meet the size 0, mother of twins!”

Her comment 1) broke the ice, 2) made the VP HR feel great and 3) displayed that the candidate did her research.
