We just completed two non profit executive search projects. I was amazed by how fast the projects wrapped up and how we were able to recruit two highly talented executives to fill the roles.
An executive search completed process normally takes about 3 months from start to finish. In this particular case, it only took 6 weeks!
I started to analyze why it happened so quickly and why the process seemed to work so smoothly and here are my findings:
1) the client trusted us to get the work done and placed a ton of confidence in my team’s abilities
2) the client was highly motivated to find top candidates in the most efficient way (since the non profit fiscal year started on July 1, the CEO was motivated to make this happen soon)
3) our research found the “red-hot center” of talent quickly and we wasted no effort or time in networking and discussing the position
4) the client had a compelling story to tell about the organization and how they were on the cusp of great growth. I was then able to genuinely tell this story to our candidates
5) the client was always ready to answer questions on a moments notice and we were able to impress candidates with our ability to work efficiently with them. This also made the candidates feel valued during the process
The work we recently accomplished with this non profit was pure pleasure. I know that not every project can go this smoothly but we now have a superb model to benchmark with.
