I truly enjoy the opportunity to put a great candidate in front on my client who is looking for their next upward career step.
The best scenario is a candidate who is not looking for a lateral move but an upward move and a client looking for a candidate who has a career that has not plateaued and is developed and ready for the new challenge.
This morning I was coaching and prepping a candidate and it occurred to me that this is the best scenario while conducting a successful executive search. Everyone wins in this situation.
The candidate has a wealth of experience and his resume displays a steady work record of accomplishment. His next step for a great career move would be the job he is interviewing for with my client. I also like the fact that the candidate is relatively happy at his current company and will make a solid decision if the challenge and opportunity is the right one for him and his family. The client will most likely note that the candidate needs to be sold on the company and opportunity and I am sure will put on their “best recruiting shoes” to sell the opportunity in an honest manner. Good vibes should develop naturally. Needs will be fulfilled for both parties.
The “win-win” happens when you can put motivated candidates and clients together. Searching for and developing this ideal match is satisfying for me.
