Today I presented candidates to a valued client. I spent most of my prep time “word-smithing” the presentation to insure the simplicity of the message so that it would lead to robust discussion.
When presenting candidates I attempt to keep it very simple, especially with the written report.
I focus in on education, work history, accomplishments, motivation to make the job change, technical fit, operating style and current compensation.
These areas tend to be areas that clients have questions about at first glance. If you can get this information out of the way, the real discussion begins on whether the company is interested in the candidate.
Keep the written presentation assessment simple and concise. Trust that your clients will add to the discussion and get to the right answer if you provide the skeleton information in a simple and concise manner.
