This is a continuing series about clients I admire and who have made a big difference in my business and life in general.
The first 11 parts of this series have highlighted the following clients and friends: Kasha Bartholomew, Paul Trylko, Casey Leaman, Karen Ganzlin, Mike Klockenga, Tony Budet, Debbie Mitchell, Vickey Thayer Kleinsmith, Richard “Rico” Grabowski, Karen Barry, and Dr. Carl Hansen.
Jerry Davis is the President & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. I first met Jerry at a University of Texas football game in 2006. He told me then that he would like to use my firm’s services with retained executive search but his local Goodwill did not use search firms but he would definitely keep me in mind.
He was good to his word. Fast forward 8 years later to 2014 and due to the tremendous organic growth at Goodwill, Jerry has utilized my firm’s services four times this year. However, Jerry is not on this list of most admired clients because he has used my services. Instead he is on this list due to his tremendous leadership talent.
Jerry has the ability to make you feel like you are a Partner with his business AND most importantly, possesses the genuine ability to make you feel like you are the best at what you do.
Jerry has made me feel like I am one of the best retained executive search partners in the nation. The confidence he instills in people makes Partners want to go through a wall for him.
His positive belief in people and partners breeds success and loyalty.
It is his gift.
