My search firm never ever treats candidates like cattle. Candidates are treated exactly how we treat our clients; as honored partners in the recruiting process.

Once you earn a candidate’s respect, the search firm will earn the candidate’s trust and that will be pivotal when attempting to strike the final deal that is a “win-win” for your client and your candidate.

Here is one way we work to earn our candidate’s respect and trust. Keep your candidate fully in the loop within each process step.

The email below is an example on how my firm communicates to candidates to give them the big picture on where they sit within the process:

“All five of you are blind copied on this message.

First of all, congrats to you all for getting this far into the process. We have contacted 105 candidates thus far for this position and you are one of the top five candidates.

Your chances of getting an interview with the CEO are very good as he usually selects at least 3 candidates to interview.

We are doing our presentation on Weds this week at 10:30am.

We should be able to get back to you on Weds afternoon on the next interview steps with the CEO.

Please stay tuned and please stay very interested.

Much appreciated!”
Earning a candidate’s respect and trust is critical to making a final deal at the end of the recruiting process. It also creates a statement about your brand and your candidates will say, “this is the best I have ever been treated by a recruiting firm.”
