My firm’s philosophy is to “treat both candidates and clients as honored partners within the search process.”

Below is an email example that we recently utilized to keep our candidates informed on where they stood in the interview process.

Keeping candidates firmly in the loop is the best method to earn trust and credibility with each person. Another plus is that candidates will feel more in control within the process and they will understand what the general competitive landscape looks like as well as the next steps.

Good Morning Candidates,
I took the liberty to blind copy all of you for the opportunity you are interviewing for.
First of all, you all should feel proud as you have made it far into the process. We have sourced over 100 people for this position thus far. You are definitely in the top 95th percentile of candidates we have talked to so well done!

I wanted to also take this opportunity to let you know the big picture on your candidacy. We have presented a total of (4) top candidates to our client and that includes you. With that said, we believe that our client will select at least (2) candidates to the first virtual interview step very soon.

We will also work with your schedule for this next step and offer any preparation insights that could potentially help you.

We also plan to follow up with all of you with general feedback on your candidacy whether you are going forward in the process or not.

Each one of you are superb candidates and our client offers a wonderful role to further develop your career and skill sets.

Best of luck and you will hear from us very soon, Sal Balistreri

As you know, a search firm or recruiting in general is in the relationship business and using transparent and user-friendly updates will pay off in the short and long term gaining you trust and credibility. You will need this to later develop and close on the win-win deal between the client and candidate.
