Dear President Obama & Speaker of the House Boehner,

Today our US Government sharply revised the GDP growth estimate for the 2nd Quarter of this year from 1.7% to 2.5%. This is a great sign that our economy is truly coming back.

You both have a critical role in shepherding that our economy continues to grow.

As citizens of this great country, we are starting to hear the ugly drums banging about another debt limit budget fight that is coming in the middle of October this year.

If you could make a deal by the middle of September (instead of waiting till the literal last minute), this would give a shot in the arm that the markets need. Market growth needs stability and confidence. This is no time for partisan politics. Each side needs to bend and find common ground.

As former President Bill Clinton said yesterday at the Martin Luther King 50th anniversary event, “I would respectfully suggest that MLK did not live and die to hear his heirs whine about political gridlock. It’s time to stop complaining and put our shoulders against the stubborn gates holding the American people back.”

To do otherwise with the debt limit budget is to put your own special interests ahead of our country.

Please do the right thing.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Small Business Owner
